CAE Interfaces and Workflows
CFturbo provides interfaces to all major CAD and CFD systems, allowing automated workflows to be built.
- General IGES, STEP, STL, Parasolid, BREP, DXF
- CAD / CAM AutoCAD, BladeGen, CATIA, Creo Parametric, DesignModeler, hyperMILL, Inventor, NX, SOLIDWORKS, SpaceClaim, ZW3D
- CFD / FEM ANSA, Ansys Meshing, AutoGrid, GridPro, Hexpress, ICEM-CFD, IGG, OpenFOAM, Pointwise, SimericMP, STAR-CCM+, TCFD, TurboGrid, Vista TF
In the publications you will find examples of individual CFD interfaces and their use in specific projects. You will find information below about key simulation interfaces.
Detailed information about the individual interfaces can be found in the CFturbo manual.
For Ansys, interfaces to the following applications are available:
- Vista TF
Ansys-Workbench CFturbo is fully integrated into the Ansys-Workbench, including bi-directional parameter update.
Ansys ICEM-CFD For ICEM-CFD, a scripted solution is available that enables fully automated Tet/ Prism meshing.
The interface to TCFD is based on STL geometry. In addition, a comprehensive project file * .tcfd is generated within CFturbo.
Parameters for geometry generation, meshing, and simulation can be prepared within CFturbo. Automated meshing and simulation in TCFD becomes possible. To evaluate results, special expressions are generated to perform turbomachinery post-processing.
For Numeca's CFD solver, FINE/Turbo, the following interfaces are currently available:
The STEP-based interface to STAR-CCM + enables high-quality geometry transfer, whereas all domains and individual part names are transferred to the model tree. Thus, automated design exploration is easy.
Export interfaces to SimericsMP are based on STL files. In addition, a comprehensive project file * .spro is generated within CFturbo.
Parameters for meshing and simulation can be prepared within CFturbo. Automated meshing and simulation in SimericsMP can be done.
