Heatpump temperature record with CFturbo turbine

The DLR team in Cottbus (Germany) set a new temperature record with the research facility "CoBra" on January 22, 2025. The high-temperature heat pump "CoBra", which works according to the thermodynamic Brayton process, was able to provide process temperatures of over 260 °C for the first time. Current high-temperature heat pumps generally only achieve values of up to 150 °C, while research systems achieve a maximum of 200 °C.

CFturbo has designed the axial turbine of the system.
