CFturbo, the conceptual Turbomachinery design code, enables engineers to design highefficiency centrifugal pumps straightforwardly from scratch, or based on a given reference geometry. The all-new CFturbo BLADERUNNER uses Computational Fluid Dynamics (3D-CFD) technology to provide pump performance curves whose accuracy falls within the measurement tolerance of the subsequent test bench runs.
In this example, an existing centrifugal pump, designed and set up on a test rig at a German University, has been analyzed. During this project, its performance and hydraulic efficiency were improved. Both geometry data and measured values were available.
